Each week for 10 weeks, members of the GWA Communications Committee are sharing creative presentations about some very useful GWA resources that you may not even be aware of. You’ll be able to see these presentations on GWA’s social media channels as well as every Tuesday here on the blog. Be sure to check back each week for a glimpse of a unique take on some of the wonderful resources available to all our members.

The second presentation in the series is a video by Deb Wiley that features the many benefits of networking through GWA.

Week 2 – The Importance of Networking

Communications Committee member Deb Wiley shares a few of the many GWA networking stories that have lead to book deals, awards, television appearances, professional opportunities, and meaningful friendships. There’s a unique networking story near the end of the video, too! Where do these magical interactions take place? On the trade show floor, in gardens, on tour buses, around fire pits, on social media … in short, just about everywhere. As Deb explains in the video, GWA is all about networking.

  1. Well, this is a great post. I wish I had overcome my normal reticence this past weekend at the GWA meeting in Toronto to try and make some connections. There seemed to be so many wonderful ‘communicators’ there! It will be my challenge for the next time I attend a GWA event. I’m guessing the Power Circles would be another way to network?

    1. Absolutely, Chris! Never be shy when there are GWA members around. And, we’ll be featuring Power Circles here on the blog in a few weeks as part of the same Communications Committee campaign as this video. Stay tuned!
